Petroleum Prices Expected to Rise by Rs. 15: Private TV Report

Lahore: A potential “petrol bomb” for the inflation-stricken public as a significant price hike is anticipated for petroleum products starting from July 1st.
According to private TV channel Express News, there is an expected increase of up to Rs. 15 per liter in the prices of petroleum products over the next 15 days. Sources from the Petroleum Division indicate that the price of diesel may rise by Rs. 15 per liter, while petrol prices are expected to go up by Rs. 11 per liter.
OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) will send a summary to the Ministry of Petroleum today, after which the new prices of petroleum products will be announced later tonight. The final announcement regarding the price increase will be made by the Finance Minister in consultation with the Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that the increase in petroleum prices is expected due to the rise in global crude oil prices and the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.
