UAE President Departs After Short Visit to Pakistan, Holds Meetings with Top Leadership

**Islamabad:** President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan departed Pakistan after completing a short official visit, during which he held meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and other senior officials.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed arrived at Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi on Friday, where he was received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. During his brief stay, the UAE president met with Pakistan’s top leadership and discussed matters of mutual interest.
According to sources, the meetings focused on bilateral relations, regional and international developments, trade, investment, regional security, and overall regional stability. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in various sectors.
In honor of the visiting dignitary, a public holiday was observed in Islamabad on Friday, with the Pakistan Secretariat and other federal institutions remaining closed.
Earlier, as the UAE president’s aircraft entered Pakistan’s airspace, it was escorted by JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, which presented an aerial salute. Upon landing at Nur Khan Air Base, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed was accorded a 21-gun salute. He was warmly welcomed by the prime minister and the field marshal, while children dressed in traditional attire presented flowers to the visiting leader.
After completing his engagements in Islamabad, the UAE president departed for his onward journey.
