National Party President Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch Urges Dialogue to Resolve Government-Employees Standoff

Quetta:National Party President and former Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch has expressed serious concern over the ongoing standoff between the Balochistan government and public sector employees, urging authorities to resolve the crisis through dialogue rather than confrontation.

Dr. Baloch made the remarks during a meeting with the party’s Central Labour Secretary Dad Muhammad Baloch. The discussion focused on the escalating tension, the recent arrests of protesting employees, and the controversial transfer of detainees to Mach Jail.

Terming the situation deeply troubling, Dr. Baloch contacted government officials directly, urging them to de-escalate the crisis and initiate meaningful negotiations with stakeholders. “The National Party is a democratic political party that strongly opposes any actions aimed at suppressing public rights, civil liberties, or legitimate employee demands,” he stated.

The former chief minister emphasized that the government must avoid escalation and seek peaceful solutions through consensus. “Suppressing voices through force or intimidation is counterproductive. Constructive engagement is the only viable path forward,” he added.

He reiterated the National Party’s full support for the employees’ just demands, vowing that the party would continue to raise its voice for the rights of workers and public servants at every available platform.

Also present at the meeting were senior party leaders including Senior Vice President Mir Shahoze Hasal Bizenjo, Central Spokesperson Ali Ahmed Lango, Central Women’s Secretary Yasmin Lehri, Research and Advocacy Secretary Siddique Khetran, Joint Secretary Miran Baloch, and Central Committee members Mehrab Baloch, Mir Abdul Khaliq Baloch, Niaz Baloch, Chairman Mansoor Baloch, Hanif Kakar, Riaz Zehri, Abdul Ghani Baloch, Arif Kurd, and Sartaj Gichki.

The gathering reflected the party’s united stance on the issue and its commitment to democratic values, workers’ rights, and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
