Norwegian Acting Ambassador Meets Balochistan Chief Minister, Agreement Reached on Enhancing Bilateral Cooperation

Quetta: Acting Ambassador of Norway, Thomas Sømme Kopstad Dahl, met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti in Quetta, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of education, health, and human resources.
Chief Minister Bugti briefed the ambassador on recent initiatives aimed at improving governance in the province. He emphasized that transparency, meritocracy, and the rule of law are top priorities of his administration. He stated that Balochistan has entered a new era of peace and development, and international partnerships are playing a key role in accelerating progress.
The meeting also featured detailed discussions on public welfare projects, particularly in education, healthcare, and employment generation. The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s comprehensive strategy to ensure long-term peace and eliminate extremism and insecurity from the region.
He invited the Norwegian envoy to explore opportunities for investment and collaboration in development projects across Balochistan, expressing optimism that enhanced bilateral relations would contribute to the socio-economic growth of the province.
