PML-N Senior Leader Likely to Join PTI? Barrister Gohar Responds

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has responded to reports regarding the possible joining of former Sindh Governor and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohammad Zubair.
According to sources, discussions have been completed within PTI regarding Mohammad Zubair’s induction into the party. Zubair, who also served as the spokesperson for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, is expected to formally join PTI soon.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar was asked whether Mohammad Zubair was indeed joining PTI. He replied, “PTI is a political party and our doors are open to everyone.”
He also addressed developments in party founder Imran Khan’s legal cases, saying that for the first time, the Islamabad High Court has scheduled a hearing on the suspension of his sentences. “This will be the first time the prosecution team will appear. We are hopeful for some positive progress two days before Eid,” he stated.
Barrister Gohar highlighted the delay in court proceedings, noting that despite the case being pending since January 17, it still hasn’t been heard. “In normal circumstances, such cases are decided within a month,” he added.
Referring to Nawaz Sharif’s past legal history, he mentioned, “In one case, Nawaz Sharif was released after 70 days, and in another, after 51 days.” He further said that by August 3, it will be two full years since the case against Imran Khan began. “Justice should not only be done but must also be seen to be done,” he concluded.
