QESCO Declares Nawan Killi Feeder Load Shedding Free Following Shehbaz Town; Special Meter Securing Campaign Underway Across Quetta

Quetta: Following the successful clearance of Shehbaz Town feeder, QESCO (Quetta Electric Supply Company) has now declared the 11kV Nawan Killi feeder load shedding free. Under the directives of the Federal Minister for Energy, QESCO’s Board of Directors, and Chief Executive Engineer Yousaf Shah Khan, a special campaign to secure electric meters and eliminate power theft is ongoing across various areas of Quetta.
The campaign involves combing and reinstallation of electric meters at secure and prominent locations on 11kV distribution feeders to prevent unauthorized connections and ensure uninterrupted power supply. Zarghoon Division has completed this process on the Nawan Killi feeder, officially exempting it from load shedding.
In addition to Nawan Killi, similar efforts are progressing rapidly on feeders including Toghi Road, Kasi One, GOR Mumtaz, Nawan Killi Bypass, Kuchlak City, A-One City, Sariab One, PAF, New Jan Muhammad, Satellite Town, Khair Bakhsh Marri, and New Pashtunabad. These feeders are expected to be declared load shedding free soon.
Chief Executive Engineer Yousaf Shah Khan is personally overseeing the campaign and reviewing daily progress. He emphasized that the goal is to make Quetta completely free of load shedding but stressed the critical need for consumer cooperation in preventing electricity theft and timely bill payments. He added that power theft and unpaid bills are major contributors to the ongoing load shedding problems.
The campaign has also expanded beyond Quetta to district headquarters across Balochistan, aiming to relocate electric meters from public property to secure locations, in compliance with NEPRA’s safety regulations. This initiative not only enhances consumer protection but also ensures accurate and timely meter readings, promoting transparency and accountability in the power supply system.
QESCO has called on all consumers to support the campaign by reporting cases of electricity theft and cooperating fully to ensure the success of the project. The ultimate objective is to provide uninterrupted, reliable electricity with improved voltage quality to all users in Quetta and beyond.
