Imran Khan Likely to Be Released Before Eid, Says PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed hope that former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan would be released before Eid. Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court alongside Senator Shibli Faraz, Barrister Gohar said efforts were underway to have Imran Khan’s cases scheduled for hearing and decided on merit.
“Our workers are exhausted after enduring two years of struggle. Even the judges are tired of writing verdicts,” Gohar stated. He urged PTI workers to remain patient, assuring them that every possible legal and political step is being taken for Khan’s release. “We value the sentiments of our workers. It is incomprehensible why Imran Khan has spent two years in prison,” he added.
Gohar also mentioned that Khan remains spiritually strong and continues to seek guidance and help from Allah during this testing time. “We are actively raising the issue in Parliament and have also staged protests,” he noted.
Senator Shibli Faraz added that Acting Chief Justice had assured Barrister Gohar and senior lawyer Latif Khosa that Imran Khan’s petitions would be heard this week. “This promise was not made by an ordinary person but by the Acting Chief Justice himself,” Faraz emphasized.
He warned that denying justice to anyone could lead to further instability in the country. “People come to court in search of justice. If they don’t receive it, that’s a serious injustice,” he said.
Criticizing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Faraz said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment was a joint effort of both parties, and it ultimately destroyed their political standing. “Once Imran Khan is released, their government will collapse,” he claimed.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the Constitution and the rule of law while continuing to put pressure on the judiciary to ensure justice for the PTI founder.
