Militants Attack Bannu Police Checkpost with Heavy Weapons, One Officer Injured
Bannu:Militants launched a heavy weapon assault late Thursday night on the **Fateh Khel police checkpost** in Bannu, leaving one constable seriously injured, according to **Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajjad Khan**.
The attackers opened fire using **heavy weaponry**, prompting an immediate and **intense retaliation from police personnel**, forcing the militants to flee the scene.
Senior police officials, including **RPO Sajjad Khan**, **DPO Saleem Abbas Kalachi**, and **CTD Operations SP**, rushed to the checkpost to lead the defensive and follow-up operations.
The injured constable was quickly shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Authorities have since issued a **high alert** and launched a **manhunt to apprehend the attackers**.
