Mitchell Starc Pulls Out of IPL Amid Security Concerns, Refuses to Return to India

Sydney/New Delhi:Australian fast bowler **Mitchell Starc** has withdrawn from the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) citing security concerns, according to Australian media reports. The decision comes amid heightened regional tensions, prompting Starc to inform his franchise, **Delhi Capitals**, that he will not return to India for the remainder of the tournament.

Starc, who was part of a match halted due to a blackout in **Dharamshala**, reportedly made the decision after assessing the situation alongside his wife, **Alyssa Healy**, who openly spoke about the tense conditions in a recent interview. The incident appears to have been a key factor in Starc’s choice to prioritize personal and family safety.

In contrast, fellow Australian pacer **Josh Hazlewood** is set to return to India despite a shoulder niggle. He will rejoin **Royal Challengers Bangalore** ahead of the playoffs. Australian captain **Pat Cummins** and batsman **Travis Head** are also expected to link up with their respective IPL teams soon.

Cricket Australia is expected to issue an official statement shortly regarding the participation status of its players in the IPL, which was temporarily suspended last Friday due to undisclosed concerns. The league is now scheduled to resume on **May 17**.

Starc’s withdrawal is a significant blow for Delhi Capitals, especially as the competition enters its crucial final stages. His absence highlights the broader anxieties affecting international players amid the evolving security situation in the region.
