PCB Announces 16-Member Test Squad for Bangladesh Series; Shan Masood Retained as Captain

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 16-member national squad for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, retaining Shan Masood as the Test captain.
The selection committee has included four new players in the squad, while five members are currently participating in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) red-ball camp in Lahore.
According to PCB details, the national team will join a training camp in Karachi on April 27. Players involved in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) will join the camp after completing their franchise commitments. The training camp is scheduled to conclude on May 1, after which the team will depart for Bangladesh on May 2.
Former Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as head coach for the tour. Former Test cricketers Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul will serve as batting and bowling coaches respectively.

Shan Masood (captain), Abdullah Shafique, Imad Butt, Azaan Awais, Babar Azam, Hassan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Muhammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The series is expected to be an important part of Pakistan’s red-ball preparations as the team looks to build consistency in Test cricket.
