Helicopter Crashes in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi, 5 Dead, 2 Injured

Uttarkashi, India – A tragic helicopter crash occurred near Gangnani in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, resulting in the deaths of five people and leaving two others injured.
According to Indian media reports, the helicopter had taken off from Dehradun and was en route to a pilgrimage site when it crashed near the Nag Mandir area, just before reaching Gangnani. A total of seven people were onboard at the time of the crash.
Local authorities confirmed that five passengers lost their lives on the spot, while two sustained serious injuries. The incident prompted an immediate response from the Disaster Management Quick Response Team (QRT), which dispatched 108 emergency ambulances to the crash site.
Rescue and relief operations are underway, and the cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
