Mystery Disease Strikes Livestock in Khuzdar, Over 100 Animals Dead

KhuzdarضA mysterious disease has attacked livestock in the Sarona sub-tehsil of Wadh, particularly in the villages of Koch and its surroundings, leading to the death of over 100 animals. The disease is spreading rapidly, and the local farmers are deeply concerned about the devastating impact it is having on their livelihoods.
Jamil Ahmed, a resident of Kohli Ramzan, Sarona Koch, reported that within just one week, 10 to 15 of his valuable goats have fallen victim to this deadly illness. The disease has shown alarming symptoms where affected animals first stop eating, become weak, and ultimately die within a few days. The illness is characterized by swelling in the lungs, liver spots, and a complete failure of the bodily system, leading to death.
This outbreak is especially concerning as the region is already suffering from the aftermath of a poor agricultural season due to a lack of rainfall. With crops yielding lower than usual and the high cost of fertilizers and medicines beyond the reach of local farmers, livestock is the only source of income for many rural households. The sudden death of livestock due to this mysterious disease is now causing an economic disaster for the already struggling rural community.
Local residents have urgently appealed to the Khuzdar Livestock Department to address the situation on an emergency basis. They have called for veterinary teams to be dispatched to the affected villages of Sarona, Koch, and nearby areas for immediate vaccination campaigns and free treatment of animals.
If immediate action is not taken, the disease could spread to other areas, further crippling the rural economy and leading to widespread financial ruin for many farming families who rely heavily on their livestock for survival.
