Balochistan Government Reviews Strategy for Expulsion of Illegal Immigrants and Afghan Citizens

Quetta:An important meeting was chaired by *Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan*, to review provincial preparations for the return of illegal immigrants and Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including *Additional Chief Secretary for Home Affairs, Zahid Saleem*.

During the meeting, *Zahid Saleem* provided a briefing, explaining that the implementation of the government’s strategy to ensure the return of illegal immigrants, especially Afghan Citizen Card holders, is underway.

*Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan* emphasized that in line with the *Pakistani government’s policy*, no foreigner or Afghan national would be mistreated during the expulsion process. He further clarified that the provincial government is following an international deportation policy similar to those of other nations.

He added that the *Prime Minister’s Office*, *federal government*, and *sensitive agencies* are closely monitoring the operation to ensure the successful expulsion of all illegal residents.

Shakeel Qadir Khan also reminded attendees that the *Government of Pakistan* had instructed all Afghan citizens residing in the country to return by *March 31, 2025*, and that this deadline is being strictly adhered to.

The meeting was informed that in districts where foreign nationals are residing, they are transferred to the *Chaman* border or *Barabcha* route after confirmation from *NADRA*, with the relevant NADRA staff accompanying them during the process.

The *Chief Secretary* instructed the district administration and concerned departments to fully cooperate in the expulsion process and fulfill their responsibilities. He urged that the process of refugees’ expulsion be expedited.

He also expressed his intention to request the *Ministry of Interior* to extend NADRA’s working hours and operate in two shifts to make the expulsion process more efficient and quicker.

In conclusion, *Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan* directed all *Deputy Commissioners* to improve their mapping efforts and submit daily reports regarding the expulsion process.
