Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to Continue Kinetic Operations Against Militants

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to continue its kinetic operations against militants to curb terrorism in the region. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday, which focused on maintaining law and order and formulating an action plan to combat terrorism.

The meeting resolved that steps would be taken to restore public trust in the state’s system. It was decided that kinetic operations against militants would continue, and strict enforcement of anti-terrorism laws would be ensured. Furthermore, public participation in security and development matters would be encouraged, and a comprehensive database of terrorists and their facilitators would be compiled.

The meeting also decided that a monthly review would be conducted on the bounty amounts for wanted terrorists. Continuous monitoring of terrorist activities and disciplinary action against government employees involved in aiding terrorism would be implemented. It was also agreed that the civilian administration would be given the lead role in combating terrorism, with rapid capacity building for the police and Counter-Terrorism Department.

Additionally, a plan for police recruitment, training, and procurement of weapons and equipment would be devised by the end of March. A policy to address cross-border terrorism would be formulated, and after approval of the Terms of Reference (TORs) from the federal government, negotiations with Afghan tribal elders would be initiated.

The meeting concluded that diplomatic activities with Afghanistan would be escalated, and the matter would be raised with the federal government.
