PAC Recovers Rs 300 Million Over Financial Irregularities During PTI Tenure

LAHORE: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has successfully recovered Rs 300 million following an investigation into financial irregularities in District Education Authorities during the PTI government’s tenure.

The Education Department presented the recovery report to PAC-III, although several financial discrepancies were not submitted to the Audit Department for record-keeping.

During the previous government’s tenure, registration fees from private schools were reportedly not collected, and financial manipulations occurred in procurement processes within District Education Authorities. Additionally, illegal allowances were granted to staff, and unauthorized payments were made under the pretext of security accounts.
