US Congressman Joe Wilson to Introduce “Pakistan Democracy Act” to Sanction Officials Responsible for Imran Khan’s Imprisonment

US Congressman Joe Wilson has announced that he is preparing a legislative draft aimed at imposing sanctions on Pakistani government officials responsible for the legal cases and imprisonment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a statement released on X (formerly Twitter), Wilson stated that the proposed “Pakistan Democracy Act” is designed to hold accountable those in Pakistan’s government who are deemed responsible for the legal actions against Khan. He emphasized that the goal of the act is to protect democratic principles and uphold human rights.
Joe Wilson, a Republican from South Carolina, serves on the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees and is the chair of the Republican Policy Committee. His initiative underscores his commitment to safeguarding democratic values globally.
