Increase in Harassment by Traffic Police in Quetta; Overwhelming Number of Challans

*Quetta: The situation in Quetta has worsened as the traffic police continue to harass citizens, with an increasing number of challans issued for no apparent reason. Despite having valid driving licenses, drivers are not spared and are being subjected to unnecessary checks and fines by traffic police officers.
The police are reportedly checking Pakistani vehicles without clear justification, causing frustration and anger among the public. Even drivers with all required documents, such as valid driving licenses and vehicle papers, are not being left alone. Officers are creating new excuses to impose fines, further complicating the daily lives of citizens.
This has led to rising discontent, especially among those who comply with all legal requirements. Citizens have called for more lenient treatment from the traffic police and for fines to only be issued for actual violations, aiming to make city travel easier and less stressful.
Moreover, residents of Quetta have raised concerns about the rude behavior of traffic police officers, with many claiming they are treated disrespectfully and unprofessionally during interactions. They have urged the SSP Traffic to intervene and address this issue to improve the situation for the citizens of Quetta.*
