Former CM Aslam Khan Raisani Calls for Recognition of All Provinces’ Rights for National Improvement

Gwadar:Former Chief Minister, Chief of Sarawan, and Provincial Assembly member, Nawab Mohammad Aslam Khan Raisani, emphasized that Pakistan is a multi-ethnic federation, and until the rights of all its components are recognized, the issue of missing persons in Balochistan will not be resolved. He stated that the country cannot improve its situation without addressing these issues.

He was speaking to the media during a tea party organized in honor of the newly elected cabinet of Sarawan Press Club Mastung at Sarawan House, Quetta. The event was attended by Nawabzada Mir Rais Raisani, Mir Moladad Mohammad Shehi, Sarawan Press Club President Faiz Jan Durrani, General Secretary Faisal Baqi, and other senior journalists.

Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani discussed both domestic and international issues in detail. He stressed the importance of recognizing the rights of all federating units for the improvement of Pakistan’s overall condition. He highlighted the growing severity of the issue of missing persons in Balochistan and warned that unless progress is made on this matter by the establishment, the security situation will not improve.

Discussing the history of Balochistan before the formation of Pakistan in 1947, Nawab Raisani emphasized that Balochistan was an independent state and the agreement for its integration into Pakistan was made between Khan of Kalat, Mir Ahmad Yar Khan, and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He pointed out that this agreement has not been acknowledged to date and called for its inclusion in the constitution.

He further mentioned that historical agreements made at the time of Pakistan’s creation stipulated that no land in Balochistan would be occupied or invested in without the consent of the Baloch people. He noted that none of these agreements have been implemented.

Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani also expressed concerns over the economic progress of neighboring countries like India and Afghanistan, citing India’s rise as the world’s fourth-largest economy and Afghanistan’s recovery post its 40-year war, thanks to positive policies. He lamented that Pakistan’s policies over the last 78 years have resulted in stagnant conditions in the country.

Regarding development in Mastung, Nawab Raisani spoke about improvements in health, education, water supply, and roads, affirming his commitment to serving the region without discrimination based on ethnicity or race. He announced that he would soon meet with senior officials from the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) and Sui Southern Gas Company to discuss the establishment of more power feeders and the provision of natural gas to Mastung city in order to address the public’s fundamental issues.
