Islamabad:Pakistan’s star fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has decided to skip the upcoming two-Test series against South Africa in order to participate in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This decision comes as part of his strategy to manage pressure and ensure peak fitness ahead of next year’s Champions Trophy.

Shaheen, who recently delivered outstanding performances against South Africa, received an attractive offer from a BPL franchise. After careful consideration, he assured the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that he would prioritize his fitness during the tournament to ensure he remains in optimal condition.

The fast bowler’s decision to withdraw from the South Africa Test series reflects his focus on maintaining fitness for the upcoming Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan in February-March next year. By opting to play in the BPL, Shaheen Afridi aims to balance his fitness regime while gaining valuable match practice in a competitive environment.
