Imad Wasim Responds to Former Wife’s Allegations, Sends Legal Notice, Plans Court Action

Lahore: Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim and his legal team have formally responded to serious allegations made by his former wife, Sania Ashfaq, denying claims of murder and forced abortion and announcing plans to present evidence in court.
According to the statement released by Imad Wasim’s legal team, all relevant records, including medical reports, have been collected to refute the allegations. The medical evidence, they claim, disproves the abortion-related claims. Legal notices have already been sent to Sania Ashfaq.
The statement also addressed claims related to Imad Wasim’s participation in an international tournament in November 2023, asserting that all decisions were made with mutual consent, and therefore, he cannot be held responsible. The legal team added that doctors involved are prepared to testify in support of this position.
Regarding the alleged forced abortion in December 2023, the legal team stated that travel records and other documentation from the end of November 2023 contradict the claims. All necessary documents and witness statements have been collected to submit in court. The team further stated that anyone with evidence contradicting their position may present it in the relevant court.
The controversy arose after Imad Wasim married social media influencer Naila Raja, following which his former wife Sania Ashfaq made serious accusations, including blaming him for the death of their child and claiming she was forced into an abortion. She also shared WhatsApp screenshots from July 2025 detailing concerns over her health and the unborn child’s well-being, appealing for resolution of personal differences.
Sania Ashfaq requested that Imad Wasim be present at the birth of their child, asserting it is both her right and his responsibility as a father.
In response, Imad Wasim warned that any further contact by Sania Ashfaq or her family would result in legal action.
