Religious Harmony Essential for Ending Terrorism, Says Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Mashood
Quetta:Prime Minister’s Advisor on Youth Affairs, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, emphasized that religious harmony is crucial for eradicating terrorism in Pakistan. Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Community Development Program (CDP) and Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP) at the Methodist Church in Quetta, he noted that the people of Balochistan are patriotic and eager to contribute to the country’s development through education and hard work. However, a small group of elements are spreading unrest in the province, and it is essential for leaders of all religions to play an active role in promoting peace and brotherhood in Balochistan.
Rana Mashood stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will soon announce several initiatives for the youth of Balochistan, including opportunities for higher education. He further pointed out that the current government had managed to pull Pakistan out of its economic crisis within just 10 months, demonstrating the success of their efforts. As a result, foreign delegations are now expressing interest in investing in Pakistan.
“I congratulate the Christian community in Balochistan on the occasion of Christmas,” Rana Mashood said, highlighting the importance of religious leaders coming together to promote interfaith harmony. He praised the gathering of religious scholars from all faiths at the event and expressed his joy at seeing efforts for peace and unity.
The event, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem, was attended by prominent religious scholars and community leaders, including Dr. Ataur Rahman, former MNA Asiya Nasir, Bishop Simon Bashir, former Provincial Minister Khurshid Roshan Brocha, Nader Gul Baloch, Nasrullah Baloch, and others.
In his speech, Rana Mashood emphasized the need for all religious leaders to contribute to peacebuilding in the country. He also condemned the efforts of anti-Pakistan forces spreading propaganda to create unrest in Balochistan. “The people of Balochistan are patriots,” he added. “I was just at an event with the youth, and their spirit was commendable. The Prime Minister will soon announce laptop scholarships and other incentives for the youth of Balochistan, just like the youth in the rest of the country.”
He further stated that Pakistan had been facing significant economic challenges but was on its way to recovery, thanks to the hard work of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team. “Today, foreign delegations are coming to Pakistan to make investment deals,” he said. “Our goal is to prepare the next budget without relying on the IMF.”
In closing, Rana Mashood urged religious leaders to continue promoting peace and unity across Pakistan. Other speakers at the event, including Dr. Ataur Rahman, Khurshid Roshan Brocha, and others, emphasized the importance of religious harmony and urged the people of Balochistan to reject those who spread hate and violence. They called for promoting love and peace, emphasizing that Balochistan is a land of love and should remain free of divisive elements.
