Islamabad Court Grants Interim Bail to PTI Leaders Sheer Afzal Marwat and Shoaib Shaheen

Islamabad: The Islamabad District Sessions Court has granted interim bail to PTI leaders Sheer Afzal Marwat and Shoaib Shaheen in cases involving violations of Section 144 and wall chalking.
Additional Sessions Judge Raja Asif Mehmood Khan delivered the reserved verdict, confirming the interim bail of both accused. The police informed the court that their arrests were not required at this time.
Earlier, the state lawyer, Ali Azad, argued that the case pertained to Section 144 and there had been a clear violation of the law. The court remarked that other co-accused individuals in the case had their bail hearings scheduled for December 21.
Sheer Afzal Marwat, during the hearing, stated that he would be leaving the country and was not in Pakistan, adding that if the case proceeded, he could be summoned as needed. The court instructed him to refrain from making further comments.
Marwat further clarified that he was not named in the case and questioned whether an arrest warrant was issued for him. The court directed the prosecutor to inquire with the investigation officer whether Marwat’s arrest was required.
Shoaib Shaheen, one of the accused, stated that he had been named in the case but insisted that the charges were politically motivated, particularly the accusation of wall chalking, the origins of which he questioned.
The judge noted that he would summon the investigating officer for clarification before making a final decision.
It is important to note that Shoaib Shaheen faces one case, while Sheer Afzal Marwat is involved in two cases at Khanna Police Station, with both accused facing charges of violating Section 144 and wall chalking.
