PTI Seeks Legal Action Against PM and Other Top Officials Over November 24 Protest
Islamabad: In the aftermath of the November 24 protests, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in court seeking legal action against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and several other government officials. The petition, filed through Barrister Gohar at the Islamabad District Court, calls for action against the Prime Minister, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Atta Tarar, and other senior officials.
In the complaint, PTI has also called for action against the Islamabad Inspector General (IG), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), and other law enforcement officials involved. The petition includes a list of 38 PTI workers who were reportedly injured during the protests, as well as 139 party workers who are said to be missing.
Former Attorney General, Sardar Latif Khosa, representing PTI, has requested that the court accept the criminal complaint and summon the named individuals for questioning. The petition further requests that non-bailable warrants be issued for the accused, and that they face legal consequences under the law.
Additionally, PTI has included two provincial ministers and two members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly as witnesses in the case.
