Jinnah House Attack Case: Imran Khan’s Niece and 3 Other PTI Women Found Guilty
Islamabad: In a major development in the Jinnah House attack and arson case, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has found four women, including Imran Khan’s niece and Hassan Niazi’s sister, guilty. The case, which stems from the violent events of May 9, 2023, saw the JIT submit a report in the Anti-Terrorism Court, naming Hajra Niazi, Sadaf Fatima Haider, Beena Zishan, and Rukhsana Naveed as culprits. The court, led by Judge Manzoor Ali Gill, extended the interim bail of the accused, including Hajra Niazi, until January 15.
The case involves the violence and destruction that took place following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 9. The accused, including Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi, face charges for their role in the unrest.
In the same case, eight other PTI activists, including several women, were declared innocent. Those acquitted included Tauseef Khanum, Sadia Ayub, Sarwat Shahid, Nadera Omar, Waheed Rahman, Sajid Prince, Bilal Farhana, and Farooq. After the acquittal, the defense lawyers requested the withdrawal of their clients’ interim bails, which the court subsequently rejected.
