Miftah Ismail Criticizes PTI and Government for Lack of Dialogue, Urges PIA Privatization
Islamabad:Former Finance Minister **Miftah Ismail** has stated that the core issue between **Imran Khan**, the founder of **PTI**, and the government is rooted in ego and an unwillingness to compromise.
In a recent interview, Miftah Ismail emphasized that both PTI and the current government are not willing to engage in dialogue for the betterment of the country. “Neither side is willing to make compromises, and as a result, issues like employment, education, and healthcare remain unresolved,” he said. He further stated that efforts are being made to facilitate communication between the government and PTI, but both parties are reluctant to engage in discussions.
Regarding the ongoing issue in **Parachinar**, Ismail called on all political parties to support the government in resolving the matter. He stressed the importance of unity among political parties for the resolution of critical national issues.
On the subject of **Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)**, Miftah Ismail recommended the **privatization** of the national carrier as soon as possible. He pointed out that PIA is burdened with a staggering debt of **800 billion rupees** and that continuing to run the airline will only lead to further financial losses for the country. “As long as PIA remains under state control, the country will keep incurring losses,” he added.
Miftah Ismail also expressed skepticism regarding the airline’s new routes, stating that opening new routes will not reduce the **PIA’s financial deficit**. He maintained that the only viable solution to the airline’s ongoing financial troubles is privatization.
