Tensions Rise Between PTI and Establishment as Final Protest Call Disrupts Reconciliation Efforts

Islamabad: An unexpected revelation has surfaced regarding the negotiations between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the establishment, which were underway ahead of the planned November 24 protests. According to reports, the final call for the protest disrupted these talks and further strained the relationship.
Sources revealed that before and after the November 24 rally, the PTI’s parliamentary party meeting discussed ongoing efforts to reconcile with the establishment. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa briefed party members about the situation and the attempts to resolve differences.
According to a private TV channel report, it was disclosed that talks between PTI and the establishment were progressing smoothly before the protest announcement. The PTI leadership, along with the Chief Minister, was reportedly playing a key role in these reconciliation efforts. Efforts to convince Imran Khan were also showing signs of success. However, the final protest call issued by Imran Khan on November 24 came as a surprise and derailed the negotiations.
Sources also confirmed that before the protest, rallies had already been planned in various cities across the country. It was revealed during the meeting that Imran Khan had been prepared to protest at the Sangjani area, but First Lady Bushra Bibi, acting on Imran Khan’s instructions, decided to head towards D-Chowk instead.
During the protest, following government intervention, a decision was made to move Bushra Bibi to a safe location, with the Chief Minister confirming that this decision was taken to ensure her protection, as she holds a prominent position in the PTI leader’s life.
This turn of events has caused further distance between PTI and the establishment, making any future reconciliation efforts likely to take a long time to materialize.
