Solving Public Problems and Providing Basic Facilities to Citizens Is the Foremost Priority: Mir Liaquat Lehri

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat): Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mir Liaquat Lehri has said that resolving public problems, providing basic facilities to citizens and timely redressal of public difficulties are among his foremost priorities. As a public representative, it is our responsibility to listen to people’s problems, contact relevant institutions for their resolution and make every possible effort to provide relief to the people.

He expressed these views while speaking during meetings with various delegations. During the meetings, the delegations informed the Parliamentary Secretary about the problems faced by their areas, transport facilities, the condition of roads, public movement, civic facilities and other important matters.

Mir Liaquat Lehri listened attentively to the delegations’ problems and suggestions and said that public problems cannot be ignored. Effective measures are needed in contact with relevant departments and authorities to resolve the difficulties faced by the people. He said that the transport sector is directly linked to people’s daily lives, therefore practical steps are important for improvement in this sector, safe travel facilities and the elimination of public difficulties.

He said that the purpose of meetings with public delegations is to gain awareness of ground realities and to highlight people’s complaints and suggestions at the government level. The process of consultation and contacts will continue for the resolution of public problems so that, along with identifying problems, progress toward their resolution can also be made possible.

The Parliamentary Secretary further said that the government is taking steps for public welfare, and all relevant institutions should fulfil their responsibilities effectively. Delay in resolving the problems faced by the people should be avoided and a coordinated strategy should be adopted for the redressal of complaints.

Mir Liaquat Lehri assured the delegations that the issues raised by them will be conveyed to the relevant authorities and a full effort will be made to resolve them according to available resources. He said that listening to problems at the people’s doorstep and playing a practical role in their resolution is the basic purpose of public service.
