Quetta: JUI Quetta Stages Strong Protest Against Drone Footage of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s Residence and Media Trial
No Compromise on the Security of the JUI Chief; Undemocratic Measures of Harassment Should Be Stopped: Maulana Abdul Wasey

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat): Under the auspices of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Quetta district and under the chairmanship of District Ameer Maulana Abdul Rehman Rafiq, a protest demonstration was held against the aerial filming of the residence of JUI chief Hazrat Maulana Fazlur Rehman by drone and its broadcast on social media, the violation of the sanctity of the veil and boundary wall, and organised negative propaganda against the JUI chief.
Addressing the protest rally, Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, District Ameer Maulana Abdul Rehman Rafiq, General Secretary Haji Ainullah Shams, Provincial Spokesman Dilawar Khan Kakar, Haji Bashir Ahmed Kakar, Haji Rahmatullah, Syed Abdul Wahid Agha and other leaders said that the mentality behind the unethical conspiracies against JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is shameful. We will make sacrifices of our lives for the protection of the leader. No one can be more patriotic than him.
Monitoring his residence through drone and filming it and broadcasting it on social media is not only a clear violation of the sanctity of the veil and boundary wall and a clear violation of the Constitution and law, but also contrary to basic human, moral and democratic values. Attempts to exert pressure through such interference and surveillance in the private life of any political leader are unacceptable.
They said that under the patronage of the establishment, an organised media trial, negative propaganda, character assassination and abusive language against JUI chief Hazrat Maulana Fazlur Rehman is continuing through social media’s hired guns, the purpose of which is to intimidate the political leadership and suppress its principled stance. Political difference and criticism are the beauty of democracy, but levelling allegations, mockery and the use of street language do not in any way fall within the category of freedom of expression.
The leaders said that the government has lost the ability to tolerate public trust and constructive criticism; that is why, instead of answering its failures and incompetence, it is resorting to character assassination of political leadership and petty tactics. Such actions are clear proof of government panic and political weakness. Harassing the party’s central leadership and important personalities, interfering in their private lives and exerting pressure through undemocratic tactics will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
They said bluntly that the honour, dignity, defence and protection of JUI chief Hazrat Maulana Fazlur Rehman is the foremost priority for JUI workers. Every JUI worker is ready to sacrifice body, mind and soul for the defence and protection of the leadership. Any attempt to intimidate the leadership or make its political role controversial cannot weaken the workers’ resolve and courage.
Participants of the protest demonstration, through unanimous resolutions, strongly condemned the drone surveillance and filming of the JUI chief’s residence and its publicity, terming it a violation of the sanctity of the veil and boundary wall. The resolutions rejected the organised media trial, negative propaganda, character assassination and abusive language against the JUI chief and demanded the immediate stoppage of undemocratic measures of harassing the party’s central leadership and important personalities and interfering in their private lives. Participants said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will continue to raise its voice on every forum for the defence of its leadership, the protection of constitutional and democratic rights and adherence to political and moral values.
