Buffoon-Like Ministers Lacking Public Support Are Throwing Mud at the JUI Chief to Hide Their Incompetence: Maulana Abdul Wasey

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Balochistan Provincial Ameer Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, speaking at his residence the other day with scholars, tribal elders and various delegations, said that instead of considering JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s serious, reasoned and national-interest-based political stance and giving a realistic response to his proposals, some buffoon-like ministers lacking public support are resorting to character assassination, personal attacks and frivolous statements. This reflects that instead of competing with argument and political insight, opponents are being made the target of personal criticism. Such a course not only exposes the political training and seriousness of the ministers concerned but also raises question marks over the seriousness, dignity and honour of their backers.

He said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a prudent political leader of the country, who has always spoken of the Constitution, parliament, democratic values, public rights and national sovereignty. His stance cannot be suppressed through personal attacks, because political disagreement is answered with argument, character and performance — not with abuse, allegations and false propaganda. He said that those who stubbornly repeat lies will very soon be confronted with their reality and will have to answer before the people. Those who talk about prostrating at our doors should also understand that prostrations without ablution will not help either. In politics, the path of honour and dignity passes through truthfulness, principledness and public service. Levelling allegations against opponents under the compulsions of power will neither solve public problems nor restore the rulers’ credibility.

On this occasion, JUI Balochistan Provincial Secretary General Agha Mahmood Shah said that the JUI leadership and workers have always represented the people’s rights through constitutional, democratic and peaceful struggle. JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s stance represents facts, national interest and public aspirations. Ministers of the ruling party, instead of defending their performance, cannot hide their political weaknesses by using indecent language against the JUI leadership. He said that the people across the country, including Balochistan, are faced with serious problems such as inflation, unemployment, instability and the non-availability of basic facilities. Ministers should focus on resolving public problems instead of character assassination of political opponents. JUI will continue its struggle for principled politics, the supremacy of the Constitution, respect for parliament and protection of public rights, and will not withdraw from its stance due to any pressure, allegations or propaganda.
