Along With Tyrannical Rulers, Pro-Establishment Sardars Are Equally Complicit in Balochistan’s Ruin — Maulana Hidayatur Rehman

Quetta — Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch has said that if courts are not providing justice to the people, then the nation will also not accept the tyrannical sardari system that stands with the support of the establishment. Have the sardars and nawabs provided the people of Balochistan with higher educational institutions, quality hospitals, and employment opportunities? In the deterioration of Balochistan’s current conditions, alongside tyrannical rulers, the sardars who commit oppression are equally complicit.
He expressed these views while talking to the media and conversing with various delegations. He said that land grabbing, killing and bloodshed, extortion, tribal feuds, and abducting people — is this what the tribal system and service to the nation mean? The purpose of tribal traditions should be to provide protection, justice, and honor to the people, not to plunge them into fear and panic and deprive them of their fundamental rights.
He said the people of Balochistan cannot bear further deprivation, injustice, and instability. The people’s right to the province’s resources must be recognized, and the people must be provided with the basic facilities of education, health, employment, justice, and protection. There is a need to free the people from the clutches of the sardari, jagirdari, and exploitative system and build a society where no poor person faces injustice and every citizen enjoys equal rights.
He said the path to Balochistan’s development does not emerge from guns, fear, coercion, and the use of force, but from education, justice, peace, negotiations, and public trust. The government and relevant institutions should take serious steps to resolve public issues, resolve the issue of missing persons in accordance with the law, carry out practical planning to end unemployment, and provide better opportunities for education and employment to the youth.
He further said that for sustainable peace in Balochistan, it is necessary to end oppression, injustice, corruption, nepotism, and the exploitation of the people. Without establishing the rule of law, neither peace is possible nor can the dream of development and prosperity be fulfilled. It is the state’s responsibility to ensure the protection of every citizen’s life and property and to consider no one above the law.
Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch said Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its struggle on every forum to bring the people of Balochistan out of despair, protect their rights, and establish peace, development, education, employment, and prosperity in the province. The purpose of Jamaat-e-Islami’s politics is not the acquisition of power but service to the people, raising the voice against oppression, and establishing a just society.
He said the politics of dividing the people of Balochistan, maintaining occupation of their resources, and keeping them deprived of basic facilities must now end. The time has come for all political, social, and tribal leadership to rise above personal interests and unite for the future of the province. Jamaat-e-Islami has the ability to unite the people and set Balochistan on the path of peace, justice, development, and prosperity.
