PTI Protest Causes Traffic Chaos; Groom Escorts Bride on Motorcycle
Lahore: A groom in Lahore had to escort his bride on a motorcycle after roads were blocked due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest. The city faced severe traffic disruptions, causing significant inconvenience to the public.
In the wake of PTI’s protest, major roads in Lahore were completely blocked, resulting in widespread traffic congestion. One of the most unusual scenes occurred when a newlywed bride, unable to pass through the blocked routes, was seen riding behind her groom on a motorcycle. A video of the incident quickly went viral, showing the bride walking towards the motorcycle and then riding pillion as her husband navigated the traffic-choked streets.
The protests caused disruptions not only for everyday commuters but also for people with urgent needs. Residents from various parts of the city, including Shahdara, struggled to reach hospitals and other destinations. In one case, a parent had to walk with their sick child to the hospital, carrying an oxygen cylinder along the way due to the roadblocks.
This isn’t the first time protests have caused such chaos. Just a day earlier, two other grooms with their wedding processions were stuck in traffic. After much pleading, they were allowed to pass.
The ongoing protests by PTI have continued to disrupt daily life in Lahore, with people facing difficulties reaching their destinations or tending to emergencies.
