Pakistani Freelancers Earn Record $197 Million in September 2026

ISLAMABAD:Pakistani freelancers have achieved a new milestone in the digital economy, recording the highest-ever monthly foreign exchange earnings in the country’s history in September 2026.

According to official data, freelance export earnings reached a record $197 million last month, marking a 49% increase year-on-year and an 11% rise compared with August 2026.

The data further revealed that Pakistani freelancers earned $550 million in export revenue from July to September 2026. This represents a 46% increase during the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

The continued growth in freelance earnings highlights the expanding role of Pakistan’s digital services sector in generating foreign exchange and supporting the country’s economy.

Official figures also show that Pakistani freelancers earned $1.76 billion in foreign exchange during the fiscal year 2025–26, reflecting the growing contribution of independent digital professionals to the country’s export sector.
