PTI Suffers Setback as Murad Saeed Disqualified from Senate Seat

Islamabad: Murad Saeed has been disqualified from his Senate of Pakistan seat, marking a major blow for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The Election Commission of Pakistan declared him ineligible under Article 63(1)(h) and officially de-notified him, issuing a formal notification.

The disqualification follows a ruling by an Anti-Terrorism Court, which had sentenced Saeed to 10 years in prison. As a result, his membership in the Senate has been terminated, with authorities confirming that the decision is based on the court’s judgment.

This development represents a significant political setback for PTI, with implications for party representation and influence in the upper house of Parliament.
