No Compromise Will Be Made on Women’s Protection and Rights; Influential Accused Cannot Escape the Law: Mir Ziaullah Langove

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Provincial Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has said that no compromise will be made in Balochistan regarding the protection and rights of women. The accused involved in the Asma Jatak and Laiba Sattar cases, no matter how influential they may be, will soon be brought under the grip of the law.
Speaking to the media on October 16, the Interior Minister said that a case has been registered regarding the Laiba Sattar case in Kalat, and four accused were nominated on the identification of the family. According to him, after the family presented a compromise (raazinama) in court, two arrested individuals were released, while raids are being conducted to arrest the other two accused nominated in the case.
Mir Ziaullah Langove said that those who trample traditions and commit oppression against women cannot escape the grip of the law. Whether it is Asma Jatak or anyone else, all women are our daughters and sisters. The government stands with the oppressed, and it too is grieved over the incident that befell Asma Jatak.
According to the Interior Minister, operations are also ongoing to arrest the accused nominated in the Asma Jatak case, while raids are being conducted in various parts of the country, including Karachi, to arrest the main accused.
He said that a person who commits a crime tries to hide to escape arrest; however, the Balochistan government assures the people that individuals involved in serious crimes against women will not be allowed to escape the law, and efforts to arrest the accused in both cases will continue.
