Law and Order Situation Alarming Across Balochistan Including Provincial Capital; Cosmetic Measures Cannot Be Called Development: Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey

Travel on Highways Unsafe and People Suffering from Insecurity and Unemployment; Government Should Recognize Ground Realities Instead of Tall Claims: Maulana Abdul Wasey and Agha Mahmood Shah

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Provincial Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and Provincial Secretary General Agha Mahmood Shah have said that in a province suffering from unrest and economic crisis, cosmetic measures and publicity campaigns are the worst joke with the people; they cannot be called development. The law and order situation across Balochistan, including the provincial capital Quetta, is alarming. The people are afflicted with problems such as insecurity, inflation, unemployment, and poverty, while the rising incidents of crime have made the lives of citizens miserable.

They said that traveling on various highways of the province has become difficult, due to which passengers, traders, and transporters are facing difficulties and business activities are also being affected. They said that the real standard of development is not tall claims and cosmetic projects but the provision of peace, employment, basic facilities, and a safe environment to the people. When the lives and property of citizens are not safe and they cannot travel without fear and danger, then claims of development are meaningless.

They said that it is the responsibility of the government to recognize ground realities and take effective measures for the restoration of law and order, indiscriminate action against criminal elements, protection of national highways, and elimination of economic difficulties. They further said that the people of Balochistan want practical measures and such governance whose benefits reach the common man, instead of mere promises and publicity activities. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will continue to play its political and democratic role for the resolution of public issues, the establishment of peace and justice in the province, and the protection of the basic rights of the people.
