KPK Interior Ministry Issues Terror Threat Alert Amid PTI Protest, Warns of Suicide Attacks

Islamabad:The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Interior Ministry has issued a threat alert warning of potential suicide bombings during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest in Islamabad on November 24. According to the alert, the extremist group “Fitna al-Khawarij” is planning to carry out suicide attacks during the protest rallies.

The KPK Interior Ministry’s threat alert states that the group, linked to terrorist activities, has reportedly planned suicide bombings targeting PTI’s protest gatherings. The alert urges all relevant authorities to implement heightened security measures to prevent any terrorist incidents.

This warning follows a previous alert issued by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), which also raised concerns about potential terrorist attacks on PTI’s protest rallies. NACTA highlighted that several terrorists connected to the Fitna al-Khawarij group had crossed the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and entered Pakistan, increasing the risk of violent attacks during the upcoming protests.

According to NACTA, intelligence reports suggest that these militants, having crossed into Pakistan between the night of November 19 and 20, could carry out terrorist activities in major cities. The threat alert indicated that the group is planning to target urban centers with possible attacks during mass gatherings.

In light of these developments, NACTA has directed provincial governments to implement the strictest security measures, particularly in areas where Fitna al-Khawarij-linked militants are believed to be present. The authorities have been instructed to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to ensure public safety during the protests.

The increasing threat of terrorism has raised concerns over the safety of participants and the general public during PTI’s planned demonstrations, prompting authorities to bolster security efforts across the country.
