Maulana Fazlur Rehman Accepts PM Shehbaz’s Invitation to Visit Prime Minister’s House

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has accepted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to visit the Prime Minister’s House following a telephone conversation between the two leaders, according to sources.

Sources said the prime minister contacted Maulana Fazlur Rehman by telephone and congratulated him on performing Umrah.

During the conversation, Shehbaz Sharif also invited the JUI-F chief to visit the Prime Minister’s House, an invitation that Maulana Fazlur Rehman accepted.

A meeting between the prime minister and the JUI-F chief is expected to take place soon, sources added.

According to the sources, the two leaders also discussed ways to ease tensions between the federal government and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government.

The expected meeting comes amid ongoing consultations over the political and security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, no official announcement has been made regarding the date or agenda of the proposed meeting.
