Sanctity of Haramain a Red Line, Grand Mosque Imam Condemns Houthi Attacks

MAKKAH: Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, has strongly condemned Houthi attacks, declaring that the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques is a red line that must never be crossed.
He said protecting the dignity, sanctity and security of Makkah and Madinah was a responsibility shared by all Muslims.
In his statement, Sheikh Al-Sudais emphasised the importance of maintaining peace and stability at the Two Holy Mosques, stressing that the sacred sites must be protected from any threat or escalation of tensions.
He urged Muslims around the world to uphold the respect and sanctity of the holy places, describing Makkah and Madinah as sites of exceptional religious significance for the entire Muslim Ummah.
The Grand Mosque imam further stated that no action undermining the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques could be tolerated.
He said the security and stability of the holy sites were important not only for Saudi Arabia but also for the wider Muslim world.
Sheikh Al-Sudais stressed that preventing any action or threat directed against the sacred sites was essential to preserving their peace and security.
