Depriving Students of South Pashtunkhwa of Educational Scholarships Is Injustice; Discriminatory Policies Should Be Reviewed: Khushal Khan Kakar

Zhob (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Chairman of Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party and Member of the National Assembly, Khushal Khan Kakar, has said that students should focus fully on acquiring higher education, because only through quality education can experts be produced in various fields who will prove to be an asset to the nation.

Addressing a students’ gathering at Government Degree College Zhob, Khushal Khan Kakar said that the establishment of a high-level university in the center of every division and the immediate granting of postgraduate college status to Government Boys Degree College Zhob is necessary, for which a voice will be raised on every forum.

He said that hundreds of students graduate every year from the feeder schools of Zhob and Sherani, but due to inflation and unemployment, it is difficult for poor students to continue their education in far-off cities. According to him, the establishment of a high-level university in Zhob and the immediate commencement of the educational process is an important need of the hour.

Khushal Khan Kakar urged students to abandon laziness and negligence, focus on acquiring education, master the curriculum, and polish their abilities through hard work. He said that as a result of higher education, experts in various fields can be produced, and students can play an important role in guiding and serving the nation in the future.

Terming restrictions on students’ political, cultural, democratic, and co-curricular activities as unjustified, he said that the younger generation is aware of the current conditions and can play a role in social and political activities along with education.

Khushal Khan Kakar said that the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and the Pashtunkhwa Students Organization have struggled for long for the spread of education in the Pashtunkhwa homeland, the provision of quality and free education, and the rights of students. According to him, many important experts and political leaders have received education from Zhob’s educational institutions and played a role in national service.

He claimed that students of South Pashtunkhwa are being continuously neglected in various fields, including educational scholarships. He said that the provision of development projects and scholarships in other areas is welcome, however, resources and opportunities should also be provided to South Pashtunkhwa on an equal basis.

Khushal Khan Kakar said that the Pashtun political and national movement believes in a peaceful, democratic, and constitutional struggle for the achievement of its rights and powers. He said that considering the Pashtunkhwa national political movement as weakness is not correct, and the government should review its discriminatory policies.

He urged students to focus all their attention on acquiring knowledge in the first phase, utilize their abilities, and become citizens of high morals and character so that in the future they can serve their family, area, and homeland.

Khushal Khan Kakar said that after the 18th Amendment, education is the responsibility of provincial governments, therefore the provincial government should give education top priority. He demanded that facilities from primary to higher education be provided on an equal basis in Pashtun and Baloch areas, high-level universities be established in the center of every division, and a special grant be allocated for the education sector.

On this occasion, Pashtunkhwa SO Zonal Deputy Secretary Emal Sarwan welcomed the party chairman and delegation upon their arrival at the college. The college principal and teachers welcomed Khushal Khan Kakar and the party delegation and informed them about the college’s problems, for the resolution of which he assured contact with relevant authorities.
