When We Say We Have to Reach Islamabad and Show Them, Then Neither You Nor Even Your Father Will Be Able to Stop Us: Sohail Afridi

Kohat (Qudrat Daily) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that when we say we have to reach Islamabad and show them, then neither you nor even your father will be able to stop us. Addressing long march participants in Kohat, he said that yesterday, that monkey who lost his election to an elderly woman — if he were the son of an honourable father, he would not have sat on an elderly woman’s seat. I know your honour, and I also know the honour of that fugitive who is your leader. When we say we have to reach Islamabad and show them, then neither you nor even your father will be able to stop us.

He said that all of you know why we were forced onto the long march.

Since becoming Chief Minister, I have knocked on every door and adopted all democratic, constitutional, and legal paths, repeatedly asking: tell me, which path is left for me?

He said that after adopting all constitutional and legal paths, he called the Prime Minister and asked him to arrange a meeting with Imran Khan, to which he was told, “I will ask and let you know.”

Later, a resolution in favour of the right to meet was also passed by the provincial assembly, and a request was also made to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, but the meeting could not take place, while the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court did not even deign to acknowledge the greeting.

Sohail Afridi said that three judges of the Supreme Court ordered Imran Khan’s treatment at Shifa International Hospital, but that too was not implemented.

He said that where justice is expected but not obtained, the Constitution permits peaceful protest. That is why a peaceful protest has been started from the southern region, and we will record our protest in a peaceful and unarmed manner.

Sohail Afridi said that we have to tell all Pakistanis what our demands are. We have released the draft of our demands on social media; if even one point is illegal or unconstitutional, we will cancel the long march.

Imran Khan’s treatment and meeting are not unconstitutional, nor is his release through justice unconstitutional. Why are the judges not hearing the cases? If they hear the cases, Imran Khan will be out within an hour. Imran Khan has committed no crime; he is in jail because he said “absolutely not” to powerful forces in Pakistan and the world. According to him, opponents are frightened by Imran Khan’s popularity and do not want to let him come out.
