Authoritarian Forces Created a Corrupt Cabal Themselves and Pinned the Blame on Politicians; Country Has Been Economically Ruined: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

State-Sponsored Brutality and Terrorism Continue; Peace Institutions Handed Over to Proxies: Strong Criticism

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — In a statement issued by the central secretariat of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), it was said that in protest against the long martial law imposed on the country and the suppression of the democratic voice of national political and democratic workers of Sindh through authoritarian, murderous attacks, the firing on a protest demonstration by the MRD in Quetta on October 7, 1983, resulted in the martyrdom of four party workers — Mehmood Shaheed, Olasyar Shaheed, Dawood Shaheed, and Ramzan Shaheed — while Dr. Kalimullah, Abdul Qahar Khan Daan, and nearly more than two dozen other workers remained in chains in false, baseless cases of the murder of their own workers, and party workers continued to be produced before the martial law court for two and a half years, while Mehmood Khan Achakzai remained in hiding for six and a half years. Similarly, on October 11, 1991, martyrs of the homeland Abdul Rahim Kiliwal Shaheed, Sabir Shah Shaheed, Habib-ur-Rahman Shaheed, Sahib Khan Shaheed, and Baz Muhammad Baz Shaheed attained martyrdom. PkMAP, under the slogans of restoring constitutional, political, and democratic traditions in the country, practically recognizing the powers of the country’s parliament and the golden principles of the federation regarding the participation of nations in power, putting the country on a political and democratic track, and resolving issues through political stability, is going to hold a joint public meeting of District Sherani and District Zhob in Zhob city on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11 a.m., on the occasion of the anniversaries of the martyrs of democracy and the martyrs of the homeland.

The beloved Chairman of PkMAP, head of the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, and other central and political leaders of the party will address the public meeting. All political, democratic, and patriotic people of District Zhob and District Sherani have been appealed to participate in the public meeting.

The statement said that in Pakistan’s history, from the very first day, obstacles were created in framing the constitution, and the country was kept deprived of a consensus constitution for as long as 23 years, and the first constitution was made at a time when the country had been divided. The 1973 Constitution was also not allowed to function, and in 1977 a military general trampled the 1973 Constitution and once again imposed the longest martial law in the country’s history. And during General Zia-ul-Haq’s martial law, terrorists were brought from all over the world against the Afghan revolution, and in the name of so-called jihad, Pakistan’s positive social values were torn to shreds. The Constitution, democracy, parliament, and the golden constitutional principles of the federation were trampled, and for a few years controlled democracy and arbitrary methods kept breaking successive two-year and two-and-a-half-year governments, and not only this, extremely corrupt, bribe-taking, incompetent, non-political, non-democratic leadership was repeatedly brought forward and made to commit corruption, and by naming the corrupt people they created, the impression was cultivated that political people are corrupt. In reality, the political, democratic, and patriotic leadership was not corrupt; rather, all of this was the handiwork of authoritarian forces through leadership created by authoritarian, non-democratic forces.

The statement said that afterwards, the third martial law trampled the democratic traditions that had been promoted as a result of the political struggle of democracy and democratic forces, and not only eliminated the political and democratic traditions of the country’s society but laid the foundation for making dictatorship permanent.

The statement concluded by saying that at present, the serious mockery of the Constitution, democracy, parliament, and federalism has plunged the country into the most severe internal crises and, above all, left the country facing global isolation. Economically, the country has been ruined, inflation and unemployment are at their peak, state-sponsored brutality and terror continue openly, state proxies are being handed over to police stations and institutions meant to provide security to the people. As a result, the people’s trust in the institutions responsible for maintaining law and order across the country is increasingly eroding, which is not a good omen for the country and society in any respect. A solution to Pakistan’s crises is only possible by accepting the continued struggle and guidance of the great leader of the country’s democratic ranks, Mehmood Khan Achakzai.
