Balochistan Home Minister Ziaullah Langau’s Convoy Attacked, Six Police Personnel Injured
QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau’s convoy came under attack by unidentified armed men in the Khat Kuchah area of Mastung on Thursday, leaving six police personnel injured.
According to police, the provincial home minister remained safe in the attack, while six police personnel sustained injuries in the firing. The injured officers were immediately shifted to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital, where Ziaullah Langau visited them and inquired about their condition.
Police said security personnel launched a strong retaliatory action against the attackers following the incident. The assailants fled the scene after the exchange of fire.
According to police, Ziaullah Langau was travelling from Quetta after attending an Independence Day ceremony at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Qalat when his convoy was attacked at Khat Kuchah, Kund Umarani.
Speaking after the incident, Ziaullah Langau said such cowardly attacks would not weaken their resolve.
“I cannot be intimidated by these firecrackers,” he said, adding that Pakistan was, is and would remain victorious.
The provincial home minister said such attacks could neither undermine their determination nor diminish their love for Pakistan.
Home Adviser Babar Yousafzai condemned the attack, alleging that the convoy had been targeted by Fitna al-Hindustan in Mastung.
He said the brave police personnel had successfully repelled the terrorist attack and responded forcefully to the assault for approximately 20 minutes.
