Balochistan Launches Technical and Digital Skills Training Programme for Youth

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has launched a Technical and Digital Skills Training Programme under the Chief Minister’s Employment Programme to equip young people across the province with modern professional and digital skills.
According to officials, 500 young people from all districts of Balochistan will receive three months of training in the first phase. The overall target of the Chief Minister’s Employment Programme is to train 1,000 young people in advanced technical and digital skills.
The first batch comprises 400 male and 100 female participants. The training will cover areas including sales and marketing, digital marketing, web development and cybersecurity, with the aim of preparing participants for employment, entrepreneurship and freelancing opportunities.
Officials said graduates would have potential employment opportunities in software houses, IT firms and online marketing companies. Opportunities could also be available in IT security, data management, media and public relations departments of public and private sector organisations.
The programme is also expected to help trained participants establish their own online businesses and digital agencies and earn through freelancing, enabling them to become part of the growing digital economy.
CM welcomes initiative
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed satisfaction and welcomed the launch of the programme, saying that equipping young people with modern technical and digital skills was an urgent need.
He said training in emerging technology fields would create new employment opportunities and promote economic self-reliance among the province’s youth.
Bugti added that the provincial government would continue taking practical steps to develop young people’s skills and connect them with dignified employment.
He said Balochistan’s youth possessed considerable talent but needed education, training and opportunities aligned with the demands of the modern era.
The chief minister said the government would further expand skills development initiatives to utilise young people’s abilities for economic growth and development in the province.
