Have You Come Down from Imran Khan’s Release to Only a Meeting? Journalist Asks

Islamabad (Qudrat): PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Khan rebuked a journalist for asking an unrelated question about a meeting with Imran Khan. According to ARY News, the journalist asked Barrister Gohar whether they had now reduced the demand for Imran Khan’s release to only a meeting. Barrister Gohar Khan replied that Imran Khan’s release was a national issue and should not be used for TikTok.

Barrister Gohar said governor’s rule and emergency were not a solution. On the occasion, PTI leader Asad Qaiser said he stood by his remarks on Form 47 and asked that words not be put in his mouth. PTI secretary general Salman Akram Raja said the long march was their constitutional and legal right and that no one could stop it.

Separately, according to a post by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, important talks were held today under the chairmanship of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq among representatives of the government, the Pakistan Peoples Party and the opposition, in which the country’s overall political situation and national issues were discussed in detail.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Mohsin Naqvi, Senator Sherry Rehman, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Talal Chaudhry, Ijaz Jakhrani, Naveed Qamar, Rana Sanaullah and Amir Muqam represented the government and allied delegation, while Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Asad Qaiser, Aamir Dogar and Salman Akram Raja took part from the opposition. There was an open exchange of views on various political and national matters, and it was stressed that political differences should be resolved through talks, mutual consultation and the parliamentary forum.

Difference of opinion is natural in a democracy, but a lasting solution to national problems is possible only through dialogue and political reconciliation. It is hoped that these talks will prove a positive step towards political stability, mutual trust and the strengthening of parliamentary tradition in the country.
