Emergency Will Not Be Imposed Due to the Long March, But Over Statements Spoken at the Official Level in Favor of Terrorists: Aamir Ilyas Rana

ISLAMABAD (Daily Qudrat) — Senior journalist Aamir Ilyas Rana has said that emergency will not be imposed because of the long march, but over statements spoken at the official level in favor of terrorists. He said PTI has also been clearly told to decide — as much patience as had to be exercised has been exercised.

Speaking on the program on Hum News, he said that one such situation had arisen when General Bajwa had said that if he was not given an extension, he would impose martial law in the country. A preparation had also been made at the Prime Minister’s House at that time.

As a result, a summary was also prepared and an advice was also prepared that General Asim Munir’s retirement was protected on November 27 itself, that he was being made Army Chief — and the matter ended there.

He said a preparation has been made by these same people — whether to impose emergency or governor’s rule, how to enforce all articles of the Constitution — and all of this has been conveyed to PTI. It has been conveyed in very clear words so that no ambiguity remains, meaning PTI has been told that now you decide. But this governor’s rule will absolutely not be imposed because of the long march. If emergency is imposed, it will be imposed over statements that are not about not speaking regarding TTP and TTA, but rather speaking in their favor at the official level. The decision on emergency should absolutely not be based on the long march or any threat.

This was clarified to PTI so that now you people decide, because as much patience as had to be exercised has been exercised. A great deal of evidence of cross-border links has been gathered. Similarly, the Prime Minister did not hold any meeting yesterday — the Prime Minister was received at the airport and then everyone went off in their own vehicles. One meeting was held that lasted more than four hours, in which those people were not present whose channels aired the names.
