Lahore: New Developments Emerge in Alleged Rape Case Involving Foreign Woman

LAHORE: New developments have emerged in the investigation into the alleged rape of a foreign woman in Lahore, with police collecting DNA and other forensic evidence from the suspects, the victim and the reported crime scene.
According to investigative sources, Muskan, who has been arrested in connection with the case involving the foreign woman, Diana, made new disclosures during questioning. She reportedly told investigators that when Diana went into a room with Mohsin, the other friends handed over Rs45,000.
The sources said Muskan further disclosed that when Diana came out of the room, the other two women had already left. The suspects allegedly later contacted Muskan and Nimra, claiming that Diana was demanding Rs2 million.
According to the investigation, after the situation became contentious, both women ended contact with Diana and the three suspects.
Police said DNA samples had been collected from the alleged victim and the suspects for forensic examination. The two arrested men were also taken to a forensic laboratory for collection of samples.
The samples obtained from the suspects will be compared with those of the alleged victim. A forensic team has also collected evidence from the reported crime scene at a flat in a private housing society on Raiwind Road.
Police said fingerprints and samples from utensils reportedly in use at the location were also collected. Samples were additionally obtained from a vehicle allegedly used by the suspects, while efforts were made to collect digital evidence from the scene.
Police said the forensic report would help determine whether a case of gang rape had occurred. They added that the facts of the high-profile case would be disclosed after completion of the investigation.
