Saudi Arabia Will Respond Decisively to Any Security Threat, Says Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

RIYADHضSaudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman has said the Kingdom will not compromise on its security and will respond decisively to any threat or attack, while continuing efforts to reduce regional tensions and pursue diplomatic solutions.
He made the remarks during the annual royal address at the opening of the new session of the Saudi Shura Council. ([Saudi Gazette][1])
The Crown Prince reiterated Saudi Arabia’s positions on Yemen, Sudan, Palestine and Gulf security. On Yemen, he said the Houthis had chosen a path of chaos and destruction and that Saudi Arabia would continue supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government in establishing its authority across the country.
He also emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to Sudan’s unity, stability and legitimate institutions.
Referring to the trilateral defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan, Mohammed bin Salman said the Makkah Defense Alliance had been established to strengthen regional stability, shield the region from the repercussions of tensions and conflicts, and coordinate efforts among the three countries. He said Gulf security and stability were indivisible, adding that Saudi Arabia possessed the capabilities necessary to confront and deter threats. The Makkah Joint Defense Agreement, signed by Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan in August, provides that an armed attack against any one of the three countries will be regarded as an attack against all three. On the situation in Palestine, the Crown Prince condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza and violations concerning Al-Aqsa Mosque, and called on the UN Security Council to contribute to a lasting political solution.
Addressing global energy security, he said using international waters or oil supplies as a means of political or economic pressure was unacceptable. He added that despite regional tensions, Saudi Arabia continued supplying crude oil to international markets without interruption.
Mohammed bin Salman also stressed that Saudi Arabia would continue supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and achieving political solutions in the region. ([Saudi Gazette][1])
