Drug Dealers Operating Openly in Quetta, Future of Youth in Darkness; Police Only See Ordinary Citizens to Demand Bribes: JUI

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Quetta District, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq; Secretary General Haji Ainullah Shams; Senior Deputy Ameer Maulana Khurshid Ahmed; Secretary Finance Haji Saleh Muhammad; Mufti Raza Khan; Haji Zafarullah Kakar; Mir Sarfaraz Shahwani; Mir Hishmat Lehri; Seth Ajmal Buzai; Salar Maulvi Ali Jan; Maulana Syed Saadullah Agha; and Maulvi Naqeebullah Malakhel have said that the growing trend of open use and sale of drugs in the city is a deadly poison for the future of the younger generation. Due to the spread of drugs, concerns are also increasing about a rise in social crimes. Drug dealers’ dens are established openly in various places, the future of the youth is being ruined, yet the administration does not see any of this.
It is surprising that the guardians of the law do not see drug dealers, but they are seen alert and ready on every street and intersection to stop, harass, and allegedly demand bribes from ordinary citizens. They said that if drug dealers and criminal elements are so innocent in the eyes of the administration that action against them is not possible, then the public should be told that the grip of the law is limited only to ordinary citizens. They said that if criminal dens remain established in the city in broad daylight and the administration remains a silent spectator instead of stopping them, then this is not merely negligence but a reflection of their patronage and backing. They said that it is the responsibility of the government and administration to provide protection to the public, not to give free rein to criminal elements. There have been many claims of action against drug dealers; now the public should see practical action instead of claims. They demanded that immediate action be taken against drug dealers, criminal elements, and their alleged facilitators.
