Imran Khan Seeks Release in Exchange for Withdrawing November 24 Protest Call, Government Refuses

Islamabad:In a dramatic twist to the ongoing political crisis, media reports have revealed that former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder **Imran Khan** has expressed a desire for his release in exchange for calling off PTI’s planned protest on November 24. However, the government has reportedly turned down this request, and the backdoor negotiations between the two parties have reached an impasse.

Sources close to the discussions have suggested that the government had offered some assurances to Imran Khan, stating that he might receive some relief in the near future. However, the PTI leader did not accept this offer, and the matter has remained unresolved. The government also proposed that PTI hold a public rally in **Singjani** and disperse peacefully on the same day, with the leadership of PTI possibly consulting Imran Khan again to decide the course of action.

A senior PTI leader, speaking to the media, revealed that the party would be willing to reconsider the November 24 protest call if Imran Khan is released from detention. “We want Imran Khan’s release, and only under such conditions can we consider withdrawing the call for the protest,” the leader said.

On the other hand, a federal minister confirmed that the government has urged PTI to announce their willingness for formal negotiations and call off the protest scheduled for **November 24**. The government has made it clear that peaceful dialogue is preferable but expects PTI to de-escalate the situation first.

The November 24 protest, which is aimed at **Islamabad**, has already led to significant preparation efforts by PTI, as the party plans to gather a large number of supporters in the capital. The government, however, has issued a stern warning, stating that there will be a complete ban on all forms of gatherings in Islamabad, including rallies and protests. Authorities have cautioned that if any violence or loss of life occurs during the protest, the responsibility will fall squarely on those leading and participating in the demonstration.

As tensions mount, the political impasse continues, with both sides holding firm in their positions. The government has made it clear that it will not allow any disruptions in Islamabad, while PTI maintains its demand for the release of its leader and a peaceful resolution.
