“Votes for All” is a Threat to the Constitutional Right of Protest: Sher Afzal Khan Marwat

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Member of the National Assembly, Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, has stated that if the right to protest is to be abolished, then Article 16 should be removed from the Constitution. He emphasized that peaceful protest is a constitutional right of this nation, and this right will not be taken away through threats. Speaking here today, he said that “Votes for All” is a threat against the constitutional right of protest, and if so, then Article 16 should also be removed from the Constitution.
He further stated that peaceful protest is the constitutional right of this nation, and it will not be eliminated by threats. He added that currently, he does not see any threat to the government, but the responsibility for the deterioration of the Constitution and law will forever remain on the account of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in history.
Addressing a ceremony for “Patton Culture Day,” MNA Sher Afzal Khan Marwat said that in 1992, Imran Khan led Pakistan to victory in the World Cup. After that, dedicating his personal life and resources to the service of the nation, he established the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, and also founded educational institutions like Namal University and Al-Qadir University. And today, for nearly three years, the same person, even while imprisoned, continues to struggle for this nation’s right to freedom and sovereignty. This is not just the story of an individual, but a history of service, sacrifice, and determination. This is our identity, this is our pride.

Sher Afzal Khan Marwat stated that the greatest achievement of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the benefactor of Pakistan, was not only making Pakistan a nuclear power, but he provided the homeland with such a defensive capability that played a crucial role in preventing potential wars. If Pakistan did not have this defensive capability, this nation might have faced numerous wars.
